I am from sitting outside my house on a blazing summer day letting the sun’s rays envelope me in their warmth, smelling the sweet scent that flows through the house after my mom makes Sweet Potato Pie for Thanksgiving dinner, and cuddling into my pink and lime green baby blanket to aid me in going to sleep with nothing but the nice memories of my Grandma Robinson running through my head.
I am from playing the piano and letting its marvelous resonance and harmonies flow through the house.
I am from sitting at the kitchen table with my family on late nights laughing about the good memories.

I am from sitting by an absolutely dazzling clear lake in Florida watching the sunset and the last few rays of light reflect off the lake’s surface before it fades away until all signs of day are replaced by night.
From swimming through the same lake at night with my cousins and my screams being the only thing you can hear for miles other than the occasional croak of a frog and the sound of a cricket.
Florida fights her way into my mind every time I see something as simple as a frog or cricket reminding me of it and how much fun I had that Spring Break.

I am from spending countless hours of giving my all in the hopes of perfecting songs on the piano, getting nervous jitters right before a piano recital, and waking up late at night writing down new lyrics and notes that I came up with so I can write it into a song.
I am from dreaming about one day traveling around the world and performing in concerts sharing the magnificent songs I wrote to people around the world.
I am from having a tremendous love and passion for song writing and music in general.

I am from slurping down a Strawberry Mango smoothie feeling like my taste buds are having a party while I’m reclining on a comfy deck chair looking out at the breathtaking view many people call the Caribbean Islands.
From tearing though the water so I can get away from my cousins who are in pursuit of me as we play an intense game of tag at the beach.
The Caribbean Islands bring great memories into my mind every time it’s mentioned since I spend so many family vacations at its beautiful beaches relaxing and absorbing the amazing culture, scenery, and history.

I am from living, breathing, and eating fashion, being called a “Fashionista” by my family members and many of my friends and knowing exactly what the words clearance and coupon means and the massive influence in those two words especially in the fashion world.
I am from jumping at any chance and excuse I get to go shopping and buy the latest trends so I can mix and match them to fit my style.
I am from deeply believing in the quote “Beauty has two purposes: comfort and love. Beauty comes when fashion succeeds.”-Coco Chanel

I am from having a big soft spot for wild life, assisting baby birds if they fall out of their nest on the coldest days of winter, and bawling if I see any animal get hurt or die even if I never had a personal relationship with them.
I am from rescuing a stray cat whose fur is as dark as night off the street and giving it food water, a place to stay, and paying for it to get needed shots and needed medicine.
I am from loving having pets and adoring them every time I am around them.

I am from relaxing on weekends when I just want to sit on the couch and do nothing at all, snuggling with my cotton candy blue and bubble gum pink pillow pet named Princess watching re-runs of Pretty Little Liars, and trying to win the battle of falling asleep by keep telling myself one more episode, but in the end sleep always wins the battle and next thing I know I’m waking up to my dog licking my face and wagging his tail violently as if trying to say “Yay! You’re up now come play with me.”
I am from throwing the light green tennis ball and watching as my dog Watson zooms to go fetch the ball then run away with it leaving me to chase him to get it back.
I am from giving my dog a bath trying to hold him down and shampoo him at the same time since he hates baths and in the end always gets his revenge by shaking all the excess water from his fur onto me then prancing away contently.
Memories are like music. They are happy one minute and sad and depressing the next, but in the end after listening or thinking about them, you feel stronger or more confident based off the song or memory you were thinking about.
