Masking My Beauty
I mask my beauty from you, a white swan, drifting away in the night. Casting your angelic wings in the moonlight of this midnight lake. My beauty is nothing compared to yours, soft feathers dancing along the water, soft tinted, gentle water. We dance together in this moonlight, across this magnificent lake. My mask is only a sign of my insecurity, because your beauty masks nothing from your angelic appearance. I look into the lake and see a mirrored image. I only mask my beauty from you, because your beauty will take my own beauty away. But all I must do is take off this piece of paper and plastic, and let it float down this lake away from me. I only mask my beauty from you, because you are too beautiful for me.
