To Mom
To Mom
I know you’re scared of letting go of me
I know you’re worried about me
But I’ve been watching you silently
I’ve seen your loneliness and your aching heart
Your silent prayers that I never quite understood
Your tear stained faced that I always brushed off
Your tired body and heart that I always over looked
Your eyes showed your tiredness but you acted so strong in front of me
I’m still a young childish girl but don’t worry I’ll become someone you’ll be proud of
Those cries and screams we committed
Yes mom, I did in fact hate you.
My hate for you was so strong that I hated myself as well
And Yes I am in fact guilty of being one of the worst daughters in history
But you know what?
You held me tighter, preciously and lovingly
We loved each other
We hated each other
But I confess
I’m scared of letting go of your hand
I’m scared of losing you
The woman who listened to my tears, dreams, screams, and hopes
Please mom, will you
Stand by me
When I’m lost and out of hope
When I’m alone and weak
I’m too embarrassed to tell you this
But mom,
I love you
