Until We Meet Again
You are my gravitational pull
I am the moon craving for the waves to travel closer, summoning a tsunami
You are a beautiful blue for someone so sad
And sometimes I have a warm cup of hot chocolate on a bitter and cold winter day to remind me of you
I reminisce on how our shadows used to mingle shyly with one another
Or when the smell of your minty breath used to linger on my tongue
And I tell myself that one day you will find your way back to me
But the chances of that happening are the chances of a waterfall flowing in the opposite direction
Or the moon dipping inside the sea, becoming one with its only love, drowning willingly to the ocean floor as if it were a burnished pearl
Perhaps you're not the one who's lost, maybe it is I
But for the few minutes for when I finally find you
Or for when you reach me at last
I will gaze at you like I have many lifetimes ago
And await patiently for our next encounter
