Misunderstood
What a perfect family…
They’d be wrong.
Past the fake smiles and the fake love they show one another,
Their true colors show.
A father who drinks too much and a mother who could care less about family.
A son who gave up on life and
A daughter who tries so desperately to perfect…knowing she won’t ever make it.
But then there is her.
The other daughter, the one who doesn’t fit in.
Her black hair doesn’t fit in with the golden blondes
And her blue eyes are as cold as ice.
Piercing cover her body and shredded clothes keep her warm.
She’s the girl, who rarely smiles,
The one who keeps to herself,
Whose emotional scars are too deep and infected to heal.
She’s the daughter no one cares about,
The one who is troubled,
A druggie,
A criminal,
An outcast who doesn’t fit in anywhere.
But everyone seems to forget…
That she’s still a girl.
A girl who wants someone to love her,
To hold her,
To cherish her.
Someone to tell her she matters,
That she isn’t alone.
That she is beautiful,
That she’s perfect.
But no one does.
No one looks past her tattoos,
Past her piercings,
Past her crazy attitude showing she just wants to be noticed,
For someone to see her pain.
But…
They fail to see that’s she’s suffering.
Battled demons by herself,
A battle she could lose.
But then again,
Why would anyone care?
She’s troubled,
A bad influence,
Someone to stay away from.
But in reality…
She’s just someone who is misunderstood.
