Home, Disappointed Home
Wet,discorded emeralds stared back at her as she let out a dreadful moan
She spat at her reflection wishing so that that face was not her own
“Dammit get OUT!” screamed the manager her breathing sounding bitter
As if she were an impatient babysitter
Autum-Lily walloped the door behind her, stopped, and deliberately turned around
To forever say goodbye to the one place she used to praise as holy ground
She then started walking to God only knew where
Her phone rang as infinitely as pi continued, but answering it she didn’t dare
The wind screamed in her face, harshly pulling down her jacket’s hood
Clouds greyed, and the sky turned ink black signaling the weather wasn’t going to be good
Shelter, she needed to seek shelter but she could not risk going home
For once the truth was told their fragile hearts would break as easily as packaging foam
The rain started falling hard, like golf balls were falling from the heavens
Again her ringtone blared, it was her brother, Kevin
Annoyed and hesitant, she answered the phone letting out a hasty and nervous, “Hello?”
But all she received from him was silence, for the girl on the other line he was sure he didn’t know
Finally he spoke with a heartbroken tone
She wished so badly that she didn’t pick up her phone
“Mom and Dad said,” the poor soul started to cry
“To never return here, your heart is brittle and dry
“You went and lost your job, I hope that mongrel was worth every second
Because you never once thought of your flesh and blood when you heeded his beckon
The backbone of our everything has been permnently lost and broken in shambles
And now the family is nagging about you in nothing but rambles
“It was nice knowing you sis, I must go
What happened to the sweet little porcelain doll that I once used to know?”
Without saying anything she timidly hung up the phone
Threw it viscously on the pavement and shattered it, knowing it was one more thing she no longer owned
Each individual gem on her face turned into its own waterfall
As she counted a raindrop for every single wrong-doing that had ended things once and for all
She prayed to a god somewhere that her ex had fun using her as a toy
And playing with emotions she rarely ever truly felt, even at home, like happiness and joy
With a sad sigh she stood, pulling her hood over her head
No more movie Monday’s, and no more warm and cozy bed
The rain sang leading a tune, as thunder played the bass drum
While she walked down a lonely road hoping for happy memories but they didn’t ever come
With one more sad sigh she finally faced reality
And also the fact that she would never have a normal girl mentality
Suddenly the rain had stopped, and the sun shone high
The clouds turned dove white in a beautifully joyous sky
The girl then smiled to herself, one of happiness she knew too sound like vinegar it burned
Life’s just a brutal game full of obstacles and boundaries, but vivacity always peeks its head in every turn
Vivacity always peeks its head through every turn…
Vivacity always peeks its head through ever turn…
