Sweat on my hands
50 minutes.
My lines run through my head.
Don't forget.
Don't forget.
My family stands around me.
Warm ups.

I grab the hands next to be. Passing the ball of energy.
40 minutes.
My friends and I slather on our make up.
Sunken eyes
and
bruised cheeks.
30 minutes.
All around me the snaps of phone cameras.
Forever capturing moments.
Frozen in time.
20 minutes.
I'm over thinking.
This is going to be over soon.
I don't want it to be.
15 minutes.
Almost time. Hugs all around.
10 minutes.
It is happening.
Places everyone.
5 minutes.
Congratulations, you were great.
Break a leg!
My heart is hammering against my chest.
1 minute.
His words are the last thing I hear
"Break a leg, I love you guys."
Then the curtain splits,
the lights are on.
The crowd is silent.
Anticipation.
I live for this.
Showtime.
