An ink stained hand trembles under the dim kitchen light
The owner has been in a fight
There were no words spoken
But there were definitely words there

Alone in a room
Hardly able to hold a broom
She is battered and broken
There is something to fear

Losing her mind
Her thoughts attack from behind
The monsters have awoken
They will find us here

She is like a deceased body trying to breathe
?

The subject of the poem is a girls thoughts that are causing her a lot of pain. This poem is supposed to portray a deeper meaning of how people’s emotions and feelings can affect them. This poem has meaning to me because it is a way to let myself connect with others and even some of myself. The poem’s meaning is significant because it explores the way people think and shows them that there are others who struggle too. It is comforting yet sad.
