In A Daze
I heard that dreams were endless,
A place to run and hide.
It seems to me they’re full of joy and great surprise.
You soar through the sky,
wind whipping as you fly.
It tangles your hair,
though you seem to never care.
Until you meet its brother,
A nasty old brute,
Who wakes you in the night
Chasing in pursuit.
Visions take you places,
A collage of faces
One might never know.
But dreams are where your heart can really grow.
They pick your fate and choose the date,
As long as your eyes stay closed,
So you can put your imagination to the test
As your body lays in rest.
Beware of frigid air.
Its cold touch is such that it
dares to shake the fantasy
And ignores your insanity.
Despite your protests,
It whispers with a proud chest,
“Good morning,
It’s a tragedy, but
Welcome to reality!”
