9/11 Poem
He was a father, friend, husband,
He was a helper, a firefighter
He has missed the past twelve years of my life
I didn’t understand he was never coming home again
I lost the person I would rely on throughout my life
The man to take pictures of me at my soccer games, cheer competitions
Cheer me on at kindergarten, Jr. High, High School, and College graduation
To meet my boyfriend for the first time
To hold back the tears when I am dropped off at college for the first time
To walk me down the aisle
To hold my children
But he chose to be the amazing person he was and help those who needed it.
Now I mourn, after twelve years of not having this amazing man in my life.
