Never Ending Suffering
Three months.
Three cities.
Three seizures.
Each one worse than the last.
Each seen by a different audience.
Each placed in a different city.
Louisville, Kentucky
In my home
seen by family.
Orlando, Florida
In a pool
seen by friends and strangers.
Chicago, Illinois
In a hotel
seen by teammates and coaches.
The embarrassment fades
as the seizures become familiar.
The fear remains throughout each one.
The caution never seems to go away
always afraid that another will occur at any moment.
Each differ
while at the same time the identical emotions appear.
Each one causes hate.
Hate for everything.
Hate for life.
Hate for me.
