Who I Am
Who am I?
Am I the quiet cheerleader, who can never seem to get any of the moves 100% correct?
Am I the dancer who gets overlooked and pushed to the back?
Am I the hidden writing gem, that no one quite knows about?
Am I the faithful daughter who would give anything for her family?
Am I the teenager who hides behind pony-tails and headbands and makeup, because she’s afraid people will see the real her and they won’t like what they see?
Am I the procrastinating student, who all of her teachers tell her she’s smart, she just needs to turn in her work?
Am I the honorable girl scout, who does what she can to serve God and her country?
Am I the loving little sister, who looks past all of the bad she’s seen her sister go through, and still sees her as her role model and her best friend?
Am I the trustworthy friend, who has held so many secrets, she’s surprised they haven’t come pouring out yet?
No, I will tell you who I am.
I am Kyra B.
And all of those things might be all true about myself, but I will not for a second let any of them define me.
I won’t let them stereotype me into being something that I am clearly not.
Something that I clearly don’t want to be.
Something that I can’t endure any more.
Something that has gotten so misguided, that’s it becomes lies and rumors.
Something that isn’t me.
I won’t let them become something that a person could google about me and find out the answer they were looking for.
