Unspoken
The strongest words
Are the ones left unspoken
How can I tell you,
What will you say?
The words that will never come
Just hang on my lips
I want to tell you
Oh, but how?
How do I say, “I love you?”
Do I start with a hello,
Should I write you a little note,
Maybe sing a simple song,
Oh, just tell me,
How do I tell you
I love you?
I try to tell you
With every smile
And every moment together,
I try to tell you
What you mean to me,
Every time I cry,
And you are there for me,
I try to tell you.
I try to tell you,
But every time you look at me,
My lungs fail
And oh I’m paralyzed
And every time you speak to me,
The words are caught on my tongue,
And every time we touch,
My insides melt and oh I’ve fallen so hard,
I’ve fallen so hard,
I can’t get back up
No I’ve scraped my knees and
I’ve buckled under the pressure.
I think I’d die if I told you,
Because what if I say so,
And you don’t feel the same?
No this disease won’t kill me one day
Oh it kills me everyday.
How, oh how do I tell you
That every time we’re together
Nothing else exists
And every time we laugh
My heart just flutters
And every time you smile
Everything inside me is lit up,
Lit up like flame
And I love you.
With every beat of my heart,
And every mention of your name,
I love you.
These words
Will be my last
They’ll be carved on my tomb
And maybe that day you’ll see
Just how much I loved you
Because the strongest words
Are the ones left unspoken.
