Conversed Cage

You could find her relishing the sun
And later, she'd carry it in her eyes

She'd pick dandelions and
Make them her crown

But now, she's in a cage
And all I do is
Pull and pry

Then, she looks at me with
Those indistinct eyes
Explaining without any words

The lock is inside
The key is crimson
The cage is white

And she weeps
As I yell out
Broken phrases
Into her own
Conversed cage

This piece comes from the relationship between me and my sister, who has chemical depression. She's been having a very hard time lately, and I'm trying to stick with her through thick and thin.
