Emptiness hit me












as soon as she left.











The door slammed shut










and the big boom will forever








echo in my ears.
The sound of that door
is something that crosses
my mind every day.
The sight of her leaving
will always remain in my mind,
I didn’t understand
why she had to leave,
why she chose to just walk out
on our family and mess up the life we lived.
I don’t think I’ll ever understand
Why she did what she did
ripping our family apart.
Making every event in the future
awkward and uncomfortable.
In our life we all have choices
She made hers
And now we must make ours
Trying to not follow
the path she has left,
And to become something of ourselves
She made it this way
And because of her choices
This is how we must stay
Letting the emptiness
Fill our lives,
and forever making us scared of goodbyes.
