The Soldier and the yellow gas
Point in war when everyone has the death defying decaying thought
A copper shell piercing through your flesh sharp and swiftly sinking into with shrieking pain.
Shrapnel of a large artillery shell going boom and wounding your leg soon to bring you death.
Yellowish gas goes over the plain land of no mans land, as everyone stops and stares as their life flashes before their very eyes.
Now soldier is back with his family.
Feeling their warm hugs and light kisses on his check.
Soothing sensation of hot sizzling chocolate with warm fluffy going down his throat.
Soldier is back to reality.
What he thought was warm hugs, light kisses on the cheek, soothing hot chocolate going down his throat
Was actually just a vision a hallucination of where he would like to be.
It was the mustard gas slowly killing him.
Mustard gas was like a fire burning from inside of him
He cries for help but no help will come for they are all dead or close to the end
Of what we call a life.
If only we could have seen our errored ways of countries and just have skipped this brutality of war and despair.
