There is precious jewelry tucked beneath
The dusty cushions of your couch.
And million dollar bills where
You keep your milk and cream.

I’m sorry to inform you
So late in your life,
That you are what we
Consider royalty.
But no matter how you choose
To accept your calling,
I will be proud of you.

I will not sit near your family,
During sanctified ceremonies.
Or call to reserve my seat
For a celebration feast.
But think me there.

I am mildly aware of what
The world is capable of,
But I know what heaven and hell
Those trifling hands can reign.
You were born a ruler.

I am so delighted that you may find
Your path, whether that be
As king or as servant.
Do not listen to the rumors.
You have a choice.
Your future is solitary in your hands

There are undergoing misfortunes
Eventing about your city
Promise me, that your yearn will
Lead you to help the sickly

I cannot guide you thoroughly
But you must know,
You can do all.

Your presence is a holy painting
Hung among dirty photographs.
And do not take this lightly
When I say,
“You are meant for great things.”

Your crown is a symbol of power
And trust me, I know the pressure
You will become a god to your people
But if you step, do not back down.

Stand there high
Raise your hand for the silence
And pay good deeds to your kingdom
You are one of them
Just with the power of authority

Do not forget where you came from
Bow down to the ancestors
And do not deny the advice of your
Wise elders
You are meant for great things
And I am so proud to have encountered
Such a soul

Long lives the king
Long live the child I once knew
