I Need an Escape
Gripping the steering wheel, I drove
Not a care in the world
Petal to the floor I drove with rage
Mad road rage, but not the bad kind
The kind where you just want to go fast, speed, be reckless
The wind racing through one window and out the other,
Like it’s running from something
Making my hair dance around my head,
Like a choreographed piece
Leaving me incredibly speechless
The music so loud it is pounding in the speakers
I can hear it in my ears, feel it in my chest
And I sing, I sing so loud
And I scream, not because I am scared but because all this excitement needs to get out.
To escape, to be free
And to feel as phenomenally wonderful as I do
