Dripping At The Seams
Crawling towards the sun
Like a serpent to wine
Crawling in and out
Through the wormholes of life
Dancing round and round
Like flares set to strike
Stopping only for a fix
From the needle of life

Come drink from me
I know your veins are thirsty
Come dance with me
We'll shake just like your nerves
Just one more fix
I'll give what you deserve
And I'll leave you hanging on
A couple days and I'll be gone

I'm dripping from the seams
I'm shaking from content
Why do all my fragile dreams
Come from this punishment?

More and more you become a slave
The needle is your master
You've obtained your golden fix
Yet your heart still beats faster
You can feel your chest
Caving in
It's so hard to breathe
It's finally taken its toll on you
As your soul begins to leave

“When it's over, I want to say: all my life
I was a bride married to amazement.
I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.

When it is over, I don't want to wonder
if I have made of my life something particular, and real.
I don't want to find myself sighing and frightened,
or full of argument.

I don't want to end up simply having visited this world.”
