Pasts can be such nasty things,

When you remember
not-so-pretty memories;

The fights over finances,


Arguments spinning around rumors,



Disagreements ending with slammed doors,
The guilty feelings

that were once felt
Following a lie,

Gossiping,


Hurting someones' feelings,
The things that can never be taken back;

Words,


Actions,

Too late to reverse,
Much as you wish to

those are permanent in a past,
An empty book

being filled with cruel things;
The only way out

Is to look forward,


Stop adding to the wrong book,
Starting on another,

Holding a brighter future.
