The Dam

I still face the struggle
I hate the way I am.
Holding back the tears.
My pain cracking the dam.
Emotions spilling out.
I try to keep them hidden.
Soon they will come flooding out.
Losing all the effort I've given.
The razor cuts deep.
I keep looking forward.
Stuck looking ahead
At the pain I'm moving toward.
The dam finally breaks.
Drowning me in pain.
I can't hold on.
I can never be the same.
