Insomniatic Soldier
An insomniac soldier,
him and the moon.
Describing a girl,
-a piece of him (and of course she knew)
"generations picked one"
-he said,
"to bear the sea in her eyes,
and sun in her hair"
replying the moon claims,
"ah, yes i know of thee,
I see her tears fall from that very sea
you speak of, for she knows no better,
she cries and she wails,
longing for the heartbeat of thee."
he frowns and looks down
"indeed" he says
with misty eyes and a hung head.
he picks up a flower of blue and gold,
"id only wish she'd lay down her head."
swooping down to comfort her soul
saddened, overwhelmed
as he watches her cry
before singing her own lullaby.
"Somn," he says
somn yet again.
drying her eyes and resting her head.
kissing the gold that drapes down her neck.
admiring her pale skin, and soft pink lips.
"Sova, le tiem somn" he whispers
leaving her to dream of her lover that night.
true we all leave,
we have to in time.
but we can always rely on those
who've gone by,
listen closely and you may hear their
insomnia tic lullaby
