Everything that glows
My society
Throws everything that glows in shadow
 Throws everything I’ll love away,
 Blood-red stains like mushrooms sprouting
 Up on mirrored planes, shattered
Shattered shards of beauty I turn into ridicule
Swirling, lurching in my mind, cutting
Into what I thought I’d find, thought you’d
 Be
Won’t you come away with me? I
Can’t tell what is illusion, what is real, blindness –
Turning the whites of my eyes dark, the iris
 Dull, buried
In the dust from my time passing,
 Crashing
 Into what I didn’t know I didn’t need.
