Holding the Pen
You’re absolutely beautiful
 and
 I’m absolutely falling
 absolutely hard
 for no one but you—
 and I feel blind sometimes
 because
 I can’t find you
when I need you most, but
 you’re always there
 always smiling
 always with open arms
 always open to imagining
 the unimaginable
 with me.
 It’s like painting pictures
 with no paint
 but making a
 masterpiece as gorgeous
 as a Davinci, as
 deep as a Picasso—
 but the masterpiece is nothing
 but an “us”
 floating across the ocean with
 nothing but a sail to
 fly us through the clouds
 soaring above your
 every dream-
 the ones where
 I’m the princess, and
 you’re Prince Charming
 where
 our infinities are bigger
 than everyone else’s…
when I can’t help but wonder
 why
 you hadn’t found me sooner.

We hold the pen to our own story now.
