Everlasting Existence
As i etch our names-- into this tree.
Forever, the people shall see.
That our love is strong
It always was,
it always will be.
A symbol of our everlasting existence
This tree shall grow with little resistance.
Many obstacles, but around them it shall grow.
Bigger and taller, with roots that won't show.
For it is only the tree that needs to know.
That the roots are true and are alive.
Digging deeper, holding it down, allowing it to strive.
Allowing it to live, each day becoming more powerful.
Limbs stretching wide, reaching out to all.
The leaves are the memories, that shed each fall.
The birds are the songs, that begin to call.
Call to each, in their time of need.
Staying healthy, staying strong, rooting the weeds.
The problems, the troubles. Making them disappear.
Even on the windiest of nights, none shall hear.
How genuine, how true,
how honest, how new,
how during the toughest of times,
and the hardest of moments,
We're always there for each other,
in our everlasting existence.
