You Are Gone
The moon glistens,
as I try to find you.
The sun beams,
and you’re still not here.
You are
gone.
As I search you still remain
hidden
like the day I started looking.
You are
gone.
They know where you are,
but I know I cannot ask.
I cannot speak a word
in their presence.
And so,
like the day I met you,
you are
gone.
I cannot help deciding,
to follow you;
and I see you in my eyes,
but when I come close,
you disappear.
You are
gone.
You are drifting
like a leaf in the wistful wind.
You are lost
like the stars of our sunken sky.
You are trapped
in the grasp of your own muddled mind.
You are
gone.
