Dark Lit Sky
I look up at the dark lit sky
Bright lights twinkle by and by
They dance across the dark lit sky
And sear into my big bright eyes
I lay here on this grassy hill
And see those bright lights dance with skill
I know it can’t be long until
Those bright lights leave with no refill
I hear the wind blow through the trees
Whistling through with such great ease
Composing a song as if to please
Those bright lights up above the trees
I look back at the dark lit sky
No bright lights twinkle by and by
No longer dance across the sky
Only to stay right where they lie
