Voices
Your small voice alone
a jittery high screech
becomes monotone
as your chorus chants songs
and speaks lines
Your bigger voice alone
still high, sometimes breaking
becomes out of tune
as you carelessly sing
with friends
Your voice alone
becomes richer, deeper,
you and your friends
care more about perfection
and climax
Their voices branch out
fining new choruses
and melodies
leaving you behind
to write your own songs,
but you aren't ready.
You're sad and alone,
eventually you neglect to sing
at all.
