One more year...
It only takes one more year till I become a legal adult
17
That's how old I am
It feels like being the middle child
Older than one but younger than the other
Able to drive but not to own a house
Still considered a "kid" in the eyes of elders
I'm not a kid
6
That is when you begin to be a child
When you outgrow the toddler stage
13
That's when you become a teen
18
When you become an adult
17
When you desperately want to become 18
18 is the year that I will become more than a high school student
I will become a college student
Earn a real education
And get a job later on
17
One more step up the ladder and I'll be on the highest rung
The pinnacle of my life will be soon
One more year and I'm through
No longer considered a kid
That's where I will be
Up on the ladder for all to see
