Crossing the Line
Hundreds of girls lining up
Feeling the adrenalin rushing throw yourself and asking yourself if you’re going to pass the line
Waiting for the gunshot to ring
Waiting for their voice to shout out the word
On you mark get set GO!!
Running like there’s no tomorrow
Feeling the air rushing pass your red and hot face
Seeing kids in front and back of you
Running up and down hills as fast as your legs can go
Feeling pain through your body and wanting to quite right away
People yelling at you while you run to encourage yourself to keep going
Your legs aching in pain and your brain telling your legs to stop but your soul keeps you going
Trying to beat the time and not letting yourself be last
It’s getting hard to breath and feeling fatigue
You’re getting close to the finish line because you hear people cheering
Step by step
Finally you get to that point and for a couple of minutes you have energy like a leopard
Running like a leopard to finish and pass the people in front of you
Crossing the line that means something
Having a wonderful feeling that you did something that you thought that you couldn’t do
