Dog In Field

The dog crouched
in the hissing grass
stalking the tiny
exquisite butterfly
being oh so still and silent
watching as she glides
from one flower to another
his paws thump on the ground
as he crawls to stay near
to observe her every flutter
he sits patiently waiting
for her to take off again
so that he can continue to guard
the little but beautiful butterfly
fascinated with nature's diversity
