The doors they burst with a clang
Their guns they went off with a bang
The bells in the towers how they rang rang rang

But inside was silent, not a whisper was heard
All the people had fled leaving her caged like a bird

The soldiers stalked in
With their guns held ready they walked in

To their dismay there was no one
Not one courtier, not a soul
The throne it sat bare
For you see, the queen had run

From the gilded castle she had gone
From the ransacked town with its bells singing their mournful song

They had not a clue
Their target had vanished out of the blue
With no leader the soldiers didn’t know what to do

Below in the waves
In the deep dark sea
Drifted a small boat manned by just three
Quickly they fled
On the small deck there she stood
While she slowly lifted her hood
Said, “Tell them the queen is now dead.”
