Murder by Meatballs

You need the care of a mother,
To enact the perfect crime;
Just make them feel strong and safe
And serve dinner right on time,

Make it quick and hasty,
Drop some poison here and there,
Serve it when it’s hot and ready,
And offer them your share,

Wait by their bedside as they cough
And state your endless sorrow,
Once you lull them into sleep
Prepare bags for tomorrow,

Before day breaks just grab the body
And don a heavy coat;
And you best say a silent prayer
As you shove them off the boat,

Now don’t you feel bad about it-
You really did your best,
You fed them all your wisdom,
Yet they couldn’t pass the test,

Tomorrow’s a new day;
There’s no time to waste and cope,
You’ve got to find another kid,
To carry all your hope,

If this one turns out just as bad;
Don’t worry, that’s ok,
Just serve ‘em up some dinner
And let the poison have it’s way.

this is NOT LITERAL. It's just a giant metaphor...
