Bad Turn
Going to Mississippi,
Full of joy and ready to travel,
Held head high waiting to finally arrive,
Train ride taking forever,
Family all together ready to have fun,
It was in “09” I was very young,
Hotel after hotel,
Day after day,
One day stood out more than any other the day I found out my grandma was in the coma,
So far away from her,
Why can’t I go home now?
I don’t want to get back and it’s too late,
Scared, Hurt, Confused,
That phone call left me heartbroken,
Time to finally go home,
Can this train move any faster?
So much running through my head,
Tears flowing on the way,
I have to get back home to my grandma.
