Have you ever dreamed a dream and didn't remember it?
Maybe because it's a dream that will come true,
Then you'll call it deja vu,
In reality your living a dream, awake.

eyes closed shutly tight,
mind opened like windows,
tossing, turning throught the night,
a breeze slips in as the wind blows.

Sound asleep with a mind of noise
cries, yells, and screams of joy,
now your quietly awake,
and the things you dreamed all seem unreal;
FAKE

you start to reevaluate you,
you make the dreams come true,
doesn't matter how you start and where you begin
it only matters about the end.

Your dreams can come true,
depending on how you make it,
A dream can only stay a dream if the steps aren't taken.
So why wait it?

Yeah, and sometimes your alarm may go off,
But you just can't always hit snooze,
And dream the same dream again,
You'll fall back asleep and a new dream my begin.

The author's comments:
The poem I am publishing is titled "Dreams" due to the fact that I am a goal seeker and a dream chaser I decided to set motivation for those who aren't. I seen another poet start with a small introduction that pretty much was an eye catcher for the reader to continue reading so that's what I did. I use various amounts of imagery and some similes to keep the reader engaged. Many of my mentor poets use diction, imagery, line breaks, and similes as I have within my poem. Mentor poets like Langston Hughes, Mya Angelou and many many more. As a teen who loves writing and the expression of poetry I try to read different poems by different authors. From slavery time to now, I have picked up a lot of strategies and before my work was bland now it has all these colors and thrills that really gets me views on my work. I can say not only has my work changed but me, as a writer, have too.
