Breathing

In this coffin which I lay,
Overcome by my crippling dismay,
The body's numb, the mind deceased,
As my skin begins to decay,

An empty heart inside of my chest,
Feelings towards those I could not lay to rest,
Limbs and organs but hindrances,
No longer leaving me in distress.

Towards the one I hope to be,
There I will find the serendipity,
Happiness which seems so distant,
Comes close only at the cost of my dignity.
