How I lost Life
I lost Life.
It’s not on the desk,
On the bed,
Or couch at home,
Not getting the morning coffee at Starbucks,
Or riding the late train to school,
Not reading at the library across the street,
Or jogging round’ the block at sunrise,
Not window-shopping at the mall,
Or sharing popcorn at the movies with friends,
Not washing dishes with mom,
Or dozing off in dad’s car,
Life's not there,
And I don’t know when he’ll come back.
But I hope it’s soon,
That is –
If I can recognize him anymore.
