Like Flies on Stink
It's curled up in the weedy grass,
flies buzz all around.
It reeks of a rather fresh stench.
You've smelled the scent
of a recently killed skunk,
on the side of the road.
It smells horrible,
yet you can't stop sniffing.
You are involuntarily drawn
to something so appalling
just as flies are drawn to the stink
of a freshly laid turd.
