Applicable Vitality
The Life that had came
The Life that will come
Who in this world am I running from?
The tears that I see, the tears that I hear
can only mean that the devil is near
The Life that i live,
The Life that i love
Is no more pure than heavens dove
Heart bleeding red, death scattered throughout
Where is the love that I’ve heard about?
The life that is happy
The life that is serene
This life that I’ve heard of, better never really seen.
The deaths, oh so many,
And I cannot deny the wars, there’s been plenty
Humanity is all but extinct
And the foul bitter soul of our people is disgustingly distinct.
The life that is lived
The life that was cherished
It sickens my soul to see these innocent people perish.
The diseases that roam, the abuse and self harm,
How long will we go until we finally disarm?
The un-beating heart, the ghost of a soul,
The streets of our city, plagued with such evil, where is the self-control?
Racism and poverty coat our country like unwanted dust,
And I feel our hope for a tranquil future begin to rust.
The smiles that have died, are replaced with shivers of fear,
And our grasp on reality and life will slowly dissapear.
This life that is real
This life that is dead
If this is our present? What kind of future lays ahead?
The Technology that has descended upon us is twisting us violently,
Our brother and sister’s unheard cries as they weep silently.
This life that I want
This life that I bear
Where did it go? Did He not hear my prayer?
Pollution and virus pollute the air,
The clothing that I have, some people will never wear.
Motherless children, scared and burnt bodies,
From sickly thin people to over flowed arteries
The fighting people in battles, not all can be won
But the hardest fought battle can sometimes be against the setting sun.
Each sunset gives you one less day to dream,
But if we can make it sunrise, our hard fought victory will muffle each scream.
This life that had came
The life that will come
I now know who I am running from.
