Looking back its terrible really
The way I grew up
you see, first comes heartbreak
heartbreak is hanging up the phone
after your first breakup
locking yourself in the bathroom
and crying on the floor for 2 hours
you get over heart break
Then there is breaking down
breaking down is clutching a bottle of sleeping pills
gashes on your wrists and tears streaming down your face
Breaking down is not so easy to forget
Then comes the rush
the rush is letting yourself fall in love with a sweet boy
with pretty lies and a rap sheet downtown
the rush of pill popping
and being black out drunk with your bestfriends at 4AM
the rush of that first hit
then comes insanity
complete, total, blissful mindlessness
sitting the back of a police car handcuffed
completely screwed
laughing hysterically, because finally
finally you broke
and finally,
after that comes the worst
being numb
no joy, no pain, no love,
gone
