The Hybrid Librarian

The Hybrid Librarian was one of great mystery
He dwelled in a library large and gloomy
Full of books, documents and scrolls
But lurking between the bookshelves were wonders untold
The Hybrid Librarian glided from hall to hall
Sniffing the air and gently stroking each wall
He’d fold his arms tightly against his chest
Marching smartly and sharply dressed
No one could tell what he was thinking
Somehow he survived without eating and drinking
He thrived by consuming the knowledge of ages
His piercing eyes swiftly scanning the pages
He had read each book from cover to cover
Although he was never taught by a learned teacher
He knew things that we have yet to learn existed
He was a clever man but his demeanor was vile and twisted
The Hybrid Librarian would stare you down
And with a wave of his hand he could cease all sound
His frown was pleasant compared to his sinister smile
Which would send shivers down your spine and make you run for miles
This creature so horrid it could only be found in nightmares
Threw away all his happiness and cares
In every library that stands today
When you reach out to grab a book you may find
That the Hybrid Librarian is in your way
