Sand in an Hourglass
We chased the sun around
 the world, never wanting for
 the day to be over.
And when we began to run
 faster than the sun,
we sat for awhile and you
shared your secrets and I mine.
And when the sun greeted us
once more, you caught the rays
of sunlight and let them slip
 through your fingers,
 sand in an hourglass that
seemed to run far too quickly.
