Buzzing bees burrow into begonias, picking pollen and humming honeyed tunes. Fragrances fill the air, perfuming people passing by, who, for one second, launch away their minds and acquiesce to the guilty pleasure of spring scents.

Cresting waves crash on shores of plush velvet, orchestrating and choreographing a chaotic waltz, erasing footprints left behind by friends, lovers, strangers. A sweet song; birds recite symphonies while the wind whispers approval.

Ducks take flight, soaring south to vacation, refusing to brace against the cold that approaches; they race against the weather. The ground is littered with colours, gold and crimson and chocolate, a soundless parade celebrating the cycle of seasons.

Snow cascades towards the grass blades, blanketing them in a soft white duvet, preparing them for hibernation. Frost nips at the noses of children, merrily shaping the frozen flakes, creating dreams and causing nightmares.

What a powerfully evocative poem that pulls for a reaction from all five senses.  While it pulls me in wiht the tantalizing descriptions of the sensory experience of the seasons, Gina refuses to sugar coat the slight edge to aspects of the experience.  Very effective in building emotional response in the reader!
