Make Pretend
In a world of Make-Pretend,
Everything's got to come to an end.
Princes and Princesses seem to be mere reality.
What will become of them when they find clarity?
I entrust not what I see,
But what I believe.
My sight is far beyond the mean.
I see beyond - The in-between.
I envision a Heaven; a Hell.
Listen to the chapel; their ringing bell.
It offers peace, it offers love.
This help, they say, comes from a man up above.
But, for people who don't believe, where do they go?
No one, I say. No one knows.
There's a land called 'Make-Pretend."
Its grasp on reality is at a bend.
For every good, there's a bad:
For the sane, for the mad.
For every effect, there is a cause.
As a result, some may need a button for life entitled 'Pause.'
Sometimes the truth is hard to hear.
We just need a helping hand; someone to care.
For every love, there's a hate.
Sometimes, your heart will feel like bait.
Within the world is someone so true; so kind.
To them, we become so blind.
In the land of Make-Pretend,
No one is there... Their lives put to an end.

I hope that what comes through to the readers is that there are times where you will feel broken, but remember to, well, keep your feet on the ground while your head's in the clouds.
Also, I had 'Brick by Boring Brick' by Paramore stuck in my head, which sends a similar message.
