Ghost of a Girl

I am a ghost
nothing left but skin and bone
an empty heart
beating for nobody
least of all myself
a shell and a dead soul
yearning for everything lost
yet knowing I can never regain
anything I used to have
anything I used to be
no goals left to reach
no past to look back on
no present to live in
I am the ghost of a girl once alive
still alive
but only barely
but only on the outside
I am the shell of a girl once alive
still alive
but only barely
but empty within
