A kingdom in the 14th Century
Left behind legacies and artefacts.
Books, palace ruins, invasions long gone
Their results still felt
After 700 years.
Living in a part of history
Like that well found down the road
Carbon-dated to that era,
of kings and an island kingdom
Untouched by unwelcome invaders.

The author's comments:
The place where I live was the capital city in the 14th Century, and because so much history happened here I felt like writing this poem.
