The sky was a sad gray,
The grass looked as if it were dipped in paint.
The lightning was a painting on the sky,
Thunder boomed like drums.

My umbrella was beaten by the rain,
The wind was angry today.
The mud was as black as coal,
The trees branches acted like whips.

Rain comes down like gun fire,
My rain coat was my protector.
The birds chirps were silenced ,
When the storm came along.
