Wanderlust
She had a jungle
Of wild ginger curls
On her head and for
Every star in the sky
There was a freckle
Sitting on her face
That rivaled the beauty
Of any constellation.
She was the type of girl
Who covered her mouth
When she was really
Excited and absent-mindedly
Smiled at nothing when she
Looked out of her window.
Struck with wanderlust,
She packed her bags and
Left me a note telling me
That she was going
Everywhere.
And that was the first
Time I ever had my
Heart broken.
