This World
I’m lost in a world of misdirection and misconception
With a faltering depth perception
And there are only lies shrouding truth
Leaving trust rare like a phone booth
Girls running around fast and reckless
Guys playing them like pawns in a game of chess
No more love only hate
Just leaving our airy mentality to deflate
Are we just savages in this game of life?
Or are we domesticated unwilling to deal with strife?
Whatever we are it’s still a shame
With only us to blame
We advertise sex and money
With drugs being promoted on the streets, ain’t it funny
We’re quick to judge and fight
Why not accept and love with a fervent might?
This world is losing its original splendor
And we fail to realize that the world’s beauty is what we hinder
