Morning
The sun, it rises
 Slowly at first
 Just a milky-white line
 At the horizon.

 Outlining black hills
 The watery glow
 Eventually stretches itself
 Farther into the black sky.

 Stars disappear
 As the light reaches up
 Spreading silky rays,
 While the horizon becomes fire.

 Light becomes stronger
 Watery-clear becomes gold
 Glowing ever stronger, brighter,
 Against houses and yards.

 The sky turns blue
As light breaks through the leaves
It makes dappled shadows on the ground
A dark and light puzzle pattern.

The yellow disk makes its debut, peeking over the horizon
Filling all the world with a bright early light
 Measuredly it rises
 Into the light azure sky.

 Day has come.
